April 2003 page 25 Coding Clarification:Use of Hepatitis B Vaccine Codes for Outpatient Hospital Reporting Effective January 1, 2003, CMS had previously assigned the "E" status indicator (Not Paid Under Outpatient OPPS-Codes not Reportable in Hospital Outpatient Settings) to the Hepatitis B vaccine CPT codes 90371, 90740, 90743, 90744, 90746, 90747, and 90748 with the intent to establish three new HCPCS Level II Q codes (Q3021, Q3022, and Q3023).
