Reporting of a new flu vaccine
Currently, a preservative-free influenza vaccine with the trade name Flucelvax Quadrivalent is reported with CPT code 90674, Influenza virus vaccine, quadrivalent (cciiv4), derived from cell cultures, subunit, preservative and antibiotic free, 0.5 ml dosage, for intramuscular use. For the reporting of a new preservative, antibiotic-free influenza vaccine with the same trade name (Flucelvax Quadrivalent), HCPCS code Q2039, Influenza virus vaccine, not otherwise specified, may be reported between August 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. However, effective January 1, 2018, CPT code 90756 should be reported for the antibiotic-free Flucelvax Quadrivalent instead of Q2039.
