Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy with Dribbling and Incomplete Emptying
If the physician documents that a patient has benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) with dribbling, incomplete bladder emptying or other such symptoms, is it allowable to use codes from category 600 with the 5th digit “1†for with urinary obstruction? If we use a code “with obstruction,†should a secondary code also be used to identify the specific symptom?
