Cytokine Release Syndrome
Codes have been created for cytokine release syndrome (CRS) that distinguish grades of severity. CRS and cytokine storm syndrome (CSS) are used synonymously in literature. CRS is a systemic inflammatory response to infections and certain immunotherapies, such as monoclonal antibodies and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy that cause activation of the immune system.
