Initially, this patient was seen in our facility with a history of an amputated portion of the skin and soft tissue of the tip of his left second digit. On physical examination exposed bone and soft tissue at the volar radial aspect of the left index was identified. At that time, the injury was treated with debridement and a thenar flap.
