Composite Resection Floor of Mouth and Mandible
Our physicians are performing a procedure called “composite resection,†which includes the mandible and floor of the mouth. This procedure is performed for mandibular cancer. The surgeon carried out a composite resection of the mandible and floor of the mouth, left radical neck dissection, and permanent tracheotomy. The documentation did not indicate that the resection included the tongue. What is the correct code for this procedure?
