Surgical treatment(s) may be required for patients with conductive hearing loss. Conductive hearing loss may be the result of ossicular erosion or fixation from chronic ear disease; blunt or penetrating trauma; congenital, neoplastic, or inflammatory causes; cerumen impactions; stenosis or atresia of the external auditory canal; middle ear effusion; tympanosclerosis; or a perforation of the tympanic membrane.
