At the Central Office on HCPCS we provide coding advice to hospitals, physicians and other health care professionals who bill Medicare utilizing a certain subset of HCPCS Level II coding classification. HCPCS A-codes for Ambulance Services are included in the subset of Level II HCPCS codes that we can provide interpretation, promotion, and explanation of their proper use. The Ambulance Service codes are determined by the level of service provided which include basic life support, advanced life support, specialty care transport and air transport (fixed wing and rotary wing).
