Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant

Note: As of October 1, 2000, changes have been made to the bone marrow transplant and hematopoietic stem cell transplant codes. Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant may be accomplished by using hematopoietic stem cells obtained from either bone marrow or peripheral blood. Stem cell transplant may be performed on patients with breast cancer, Hodgkin's disease, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma, or neuroblastoma (in children) where standard therapy would not cure these patients.
