Biopsy, paravertebral soft tissue

How is a CT-guided needle biopsy of a right paravertebral soft tissue mass (also stated as retrocrural soft tissue mass) coded? The mass was presumed to be lymphadenopathy, and in fact turned out to be lymphoma.  There is a reference “Aspiration of retrocrural abscess, CT guided, at T10-T11 level” found in Coding Clinic for HCPCS, Fourth Quarter 2010, coded to CPT code 39499, Unlisted procedure, mediastinum. However, in this encounter the procedure was not an aspiration and does not mention mediastinum level. ...
