Bone Void Filler Injection

Effective October 1, 2004, code 84.55 has been created to identify the insertion of bone void filler. Bone void fillers include acrylic cement, bone void cement, calcium based bone void filler and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). In addition, code 84.59 has been created for the insertion of other spinal devices. Bone void fillers are used to fill bony gaps or voids of the extremities, pelvis and spine.
