The patient is a 65-year-old male, who presents to the emergency department (ED), with complaints of severe chest pain and suffers a full cardiac arrest. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is initiated, and the patient is defibrillated, intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation. He is admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).
