Cartilage Transposition

Cartilage transposition is a new procedure that is being performed more widely in the United States. The procedure is intended for the treatment and repair of clinically significant articular cartilage defects of the knee. Cartilage transposition is performed in two stages. In the first stage, under general anesthesia, a videoarthroscopy is performed and the articular defect is identified, examined, and all damaged cartilage is debrided.
