Cellulitis of the Skin

Cellulitis is an acute, diffuse infection of the skin and soft tissues that commonly results from a break in the skin, such as a puncture wound, laceration, or ulcer. Occasionally the break is so small that it cannot be identified by either the patient or the examining physician. Cellulitis of the skin is classified to category 681, Cellulitis and abscess of finger and toe, and category 682, Other cellulitis and abscess.
