Cerebral Artery Fusiform Aneurysm Repair via Wrapping

The patient was diagnosed with left middle cerebral artery fusiform aneurysm and underwent aneurysm repair. A burr hole was drilled and a craniotomy was elevated. The dura was then opened, and the aneurysm was exposed. Due to a wide neck, the aneurysm was not amenable to clipping. The aneurysm was then wrapped with muslin gauze, one along the superior extent of the aneurysm down to the parent vessel and the second along the inferior aspect of the parent vessel.
