The Central Office on HCPCS has received requests for clarification of the advice published in the Second Quarter 2016, issue of Coding Clinic for HCPCS, Page 3, regarding the assignment of CPT 76942, Ultrasonic guidance for needle placement (e.g., biopsy, aspiration, injection, localization device), imaging supervision and interpretation, instead of CPT code 10035, Placement of soft tissue localization device(s) (e.g., clip, metallic pellet, wire/needle, radioactive seeds), percutaneous, including imaging guidance; first lesion.  The answer provided in this issue contained a typographical error.
