CMS modifies their process for the implementation of Category III codes

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will implement in the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) on July 1, 2007, five Category III CPT codes released by the American Medical Association (AMA) in January 2007. Each year the AMA releases Category III CPT codes in January, for implementation beginning the following July, and another set is released in July for implementation beginning the following January.
