Coding changes for stereotactic radiosurgery planning

Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) planning will no longer be billed under HCPCS codes G0242 (Multi-source photon stereotactic radiosurgery) planning and G0338 (Linear accelerator based stereotactic radiosurgery) planning. As of January 1, 2006, CMS discontinued the use of these codes for the reporting of charges for stereotactic radiosurgery planning. Hospitals are now instructed to bill the charges for SRS planning, regardless of the mode of treatment delivery, using CPT codes that most accurately reflect the services provided. ...
