Control of Hemorrhage Status Post Glossectomy

A 39-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department (ED) when he began experiencing bleeding after coughing. The patient had undergone a midline glossectomy and hyoid suspension one week prior. In the ED, he underwent a flexible laryngoscopy, which showed a large clot with some active bleeding around the clot at the midline glossectomy site. The patient was then sent to the operating room (OR) for evaluation of clot and control of hemorrhage. In the OR, the patient underwent evacuation of clot and control of hemorrhage of the midline glossectomy. Provider documentation indicates a large clot towards the posterior aspect of the midline glossectomy site was removed with suction and normal saline irrigation. There was active bleeding toward the right lateral aspect of the glossectomy site. This was cauterized both with the Coblation wand and electrocautery, as there was a significant amount of friable tissue around this area. There was a definite small arterial bleed present in this area which was finally controlled with suctioning and meticulous hemostasis. A piece of Fibrillar was placed in superficial fashion to help control some of the minor ooze from the friable tissue. What is the correct code for the procedure? ...
