Cranial Cavity Catheter and Liquid Brachytherapy

Effective October 1, 2005, new codes 01.26, Insertion of catheter into cranial cavity; 01.27, Removal of catheter from cranial cavity; and 92.20, Infusion of liquid brachytherapy radioisotope, have been created to identify the insertion and removal of intracranial catheters and the delivery of liquid radioisotopes. The GliaSite® Radiation Therapy System (RTS) is used to deliver liquid brachytherapy radioisotope directly to malignant brain tumors within the cavity created by the surgical removal of the tumor.
