Cytokine Release Syndrome

A 15-year-old with a history of refractory B-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) presents with fever two days following chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell infusion. The patient developed signs and symptoms consistent with systemic inflammatory response syndrome, as well as neutropenic fever, low fibrinogen, acute kidney injury, coagulopathy and tumor lysis syndrome and was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit due to risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS). He was diagnosed initially with Grade 1 CRS, which progressed to Grade 4. There does not appear to be an ICD-10-CM code to capture cytokine release syndrome. How should this condition be coded? ...
