Since the release of instructions related to the implementation of National Coverage Determinations (NCDs) for clinical diagnostic laboratory services published in previous program memorandums (PMs) numerous questions have arisen. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided clarification to these questions by publishing several responses in PM AB-02-134. At a recent meeting with CMS, a request for clarification of the responses provided in PM AB-02-134, for questions 2 and 3 was made.
