Effective October 1, 2003, several new codes have been created to report encounters for care related to insulin pumps. New codes pertaining to insulin pump status, training, fitting and adjustment are described in more detail in the V code article elsewhere in this issue. In addition, a new code has been created to identify encounters for complications due to insulin pump (996.57).
