Interbody Spinal Fusion with Stem Cell Aspiration

A patient with lumbar nerve root compression and degenerative disc disease with spinal stenosis of levels L5-S1 is admitted for surgery. Posterior decompression laminotomy is performed. Excision of herniated discs L2-L3 is also performed with a posterior lumbar interbody spinal fusion L2-L3 and L3-L4. In addition, aspiration of stem cells from the posterior iliac crest is performed.
