Late Infant

Effective October 1, 2003, modifications have been made to code 766.2 to parallel the changes made previously to code 645, Late pregnancy. Code 645.1 identifies post-term pregnancy as those patients whose pregnancies are between 40 and 42 weeks. Code 645.2 is used to identify pregnancies over 42 weeks. The new codes are to be used on the baby's record to identify post- term infant (40-42 weeks gestation), and prolonged gestation infant (over 42 weeks gestation). Pregnancies extending many weeks beyond the average length are at increased risk for adverse outcomes such as fetal anomalies and stillbirths...
