Bulking agents are space-filling substances utilized to increase tissue bulk and may be composed of materials such as (i.e., synthetic material, bovine collagen, or autologous substances). In the past, the use of bulking agents/spacer was reported with the unlisted CPT code 45999, Unlisted procedure, rectum.
