New laboratory HCPCS Level II G-codes

New HCPCS Level II G codes were recently established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to replace the 2014 CPT codes which were deleted on December 31st, 2014. Under the hospital OPPS, the HCPCS Level II G-codes were assigned to status indicator “N” which indicates that these codes are reported under the hospital OPPS.
