No ICD-9-CM Code Changes for October 1, 1999 There will be no changes to ICD-9- CM on October 1, 1999. This decision was discussed in the NPRM for Prospective Payment System, which was published May 7, 1999. The reasons for this decision were described as follows in the Federal Register in section ll.B.8: The Coordination and Maintenance [C&M] Committee presented proposals for coding changes for FY 2000 at public meetings held on June 14 and November 2, 1998.
