New/revised technology CPT codes replace C codes for CY 2006

For CY 2006 several C codes are being replaced by new and revised CPT codes. The changes are outlined below. Enteryx procedure The Enteryx procedure is a new treatment option performed on patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Using endoscopic assistance, a liquid polymer is injected into the muscle located in the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). After the injection, the polymer solidifies making the implant permanent. This implant supports and improves the elasticity of the LES, thus reducing and sometimes preventing, acid reflux into the esophagus.
