A new HCPCS G-code G9147, Outpatient Intravenous Insulin Treatment (OIVIT), was recently created by CMS to capture outpatient intravenous insulin treatment. This newly created HCPCS code was effective on April 5, 2010. Prior to the implementation date OIVIT was previously reported with HCPCS Level I code 99199, Unlisted special service, procedure, or report.
