Placement of Fat Graft following Lumbar Decompression Surgery

During a lumbar decompression procedure, a separate paramedian incision was made through the skin and subcutaneous tissue to harvest subcutaneous fat to be used as a graft. After removal of the ligamentum flavum, there was re-expansion of the thecal sac. The exposed thecal sac was covered with Surgicel gauze and fat graft that had been harvested.
