Effective October 1, 2009, code 969.7, Poisoning by psychotropic agent, Psychostimulants, has been expanded to create specific codes to describe poisoning by the different types of psychostimulants such as caffeine (969.71), amphetamines (969.72), methylphenidate (969.73), and other psychostimulants (969.79).
