Proctosigmoidectomy with Coloplasty Pouch

The patient has cancer in the anterior portion of the rectum approximately 8 cm from the anal verge and is now admitted for a proctosigmoidectomy with a coloplasty pouch and a Tru-Cut liver biopsy. The coloplasty pouch is created four to six cm from the cut end of the colon. The longitudinal pouch is made between the taenia on the antimesenteric side and is closed transversely with 2-0 polyglycolic acid seromuscular sutures. An end-to-end stapled anastomosis is then performed. The surgeon states that the sphincter sparing procedure serves as a pouch to slow down evacuation. How should this procedure be coded? ...
