Repair of Internal Hernia at Petersen Space

A patient, status post Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, is diagnosed with an internal hernia at Petersen space. The patient underwent repair of internal hernia after reduction at Petersen space. Upon entry, two ports were placed. The Roux limb at the gastrojejunostomy anastomosis was identified. The bowel ran distally down to the level of the jejunojejunostomy anastomosis where a significant portion of the bowel was in the Petersen space, which was reduced, freeing the bowel from the Petersen space, and the defect was subsequently closed using an Endo Stitch device, between the inferior aspects of the opening up to the level of the transverse colon.
