Signs and Symptoms Involving Emotional State

Effective October 1, 2009, new codes were created to identify emotional states associated with other conditions. These emotional states are often associated with late effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI). As a result, subcategory 799.2 has been revised and now includes signs and symptoms that involve the emotional state.
