Transcatheter Aortic Valve in Valve Replacement

The patient, who is status post transcatheter aortic valve replacement, had developed progressive symptoms of heart failure due to moderate-to-severe paravalvular leak. A valve-in-valve balloon expandable transcatheter heart valve is placed to improve the paravalvular leak. The valve was loaded onto a balloon and advanced across the arch and down through the previously placed aortic valve and into the level of the aortic annulus. The new zooplastic valve was inserted within the previous aortic valve to maximal expansion with marked improvement and confirmation that there was no paravalvular leak.
