Subcategory P83.8, Other specified conditions of integument specific to newborn, has been further expanded, and new codes created to describe umbilical granuloma (P83.81) and other types of integument conditions of the newborn, such as bronze baby syndrome, neonatal scleroderma and urticaria neonatorum (P83.88). Prior to this change, code L92.9, Granulomatous disorder of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, unspecified, was assigned for this condition.
