Volume 3 New/Revised Codes SuperSaturated Oxygen Therapy

Effective October 1, 2008, code 00.49, SuperSaturated oxygen therapy, has been created to report the administration of SuperOxygenation therapy (SS02) or aqueous oxygen therapy. SuperOxygenation therapy is designed to improve progressive myocardial necrosis by minimizing microvascular damage in acute myocardial infarction patients after percutaneous coronary artery stent placement. The therapy is performed immediately after the placement of the coronary stent using the guide components already in place for arterial access.
