October 2018 pages 5-7 Changes to Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing Codes for 2019 Extensive revisions have been made in the Medicine/Central Nervous System Assessments/Tests subsection of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2019 code set to better reflect current practice. Beginning January 1, 2019, a family of 18 CPT codes—13 new and five revised—should be used to report developmental/behavioral screening and testing services and psychological and neuropsychological testing services. Several codes that are currently used to report these services have been deleted, including developmental testing (96111), psychological testing (96101, 96102, 96103), and neuropsychological testing (96118, 96119, and 96120).
