CPT code 41530, Submucosal ablation of the tongue base, radiofrequency, 1 or more sites, per session, was established to report submucosal radio-frequency tissue volume reduction of the tongue base. Concurrently, Category III code 0088T, which previously described this procedure, was deleted. A parenthetical note was placed in the Category III section directing users to the new Category I code.
