Codes 92995 and 92996 are used to identify coronary atherectomy performed on single or multiple coronary arteries. The following information describes the atherectomy procedure and its difference from routine balloon angioplasty. The term "coronary atherectomy" means removal of an obstructing plaque (or blockage) from a coronary artery.
