Commercial Payers: With the end of the COVID Public Health Emergency, be sure to verify individual payer preferences regarding which POS to use when reporting telehealth services.
Medicare:
- Until December 31,2023, providers are instructed to report the POS as the place where the service would have taken place if performed in person instead of POS 02, along with modifier 95 to identify telehealth.
- Currently, Medicare beneficiaries may receive telehealth services from home until December 31, 2024.
