The Alfieri stitch procedure, also known as Alfieri stitch valvuloplasty, the Bow-Tie procedure, and edge-to-edge or E-to-E mitral valve repair, is a surgical treatment for severe congenital mitral regurgitation. It involves placing a stitch between two segments of the mitral valve to restrict the flow of blood and reduce the degree of mitral regurgitation.
