We have received questions regarding the 1996 changes to the Casts and Strapping section. To help clarify, the Musculoskeletal System section guidelines state that the services include only the application and removal of a first cast or traction device. The subsequent replacement of a cast and/or traction device may require an additional listing using the 29000-29799 series of codes.
