Cardiovascular Monitoring Services (Codes 93224-93278)
Cardiovascular monitoring services, diagnostic medical procedures using either in-person or remote technology to assess cardiovascular rhythm data, include the use of various electrocardiographic monitoring devices such as Holter monitors, event monitors, and mobile cardiac telemetry monitors to detect major arrhythmias. In order to stay current with evolving technology and simplify the reporting of these services, several changes were made to the family of external monitoring codes for CPT 2011 including eliminating duplication in descriptors (the term "wearable" has been replaced by the term "external") and grouping the family of codes...
