Code 36540, Collection of blood specimen, from a completely implantable venous access device, was revised for CPT 2003 to indicate that this code only is intended to be reported for collection of blood specimen from a completely implantable venous access device. Therefore, it would not be appropriate to report code 36540 for collection of blood specimens from a partially implanted venous access device...
