Question
When an ingestion challenge test is performed, if the patient's response to more than one test item is evaluated, should code 95075, Ingestion challenge test (sequential and incremental ingestion of test items, eg, food, drug or other substance such as metabisulfite), be reported for each item tested?
AMA Comment
No. From a coding perspective, code 95075 should be reported one time per patient encounter, regardless of the number of items tested. This includes evaluation of the patient's response to the test item(s).
