APCPS TipSheet: Permanent telehealth codes are flexible now but will snap back later

Take a look at the telehealth services that will remain in place when HHS rolls up the COVID-19 public health emergency (see story COVID-19: HHS: The end is not nigh for the COVID-19 PHE, this issue). Unless Congress acts, the stricter coverage requirements will come back into play for these codes. For example, you will not be able to provide the service through a real-time, audio-only connection (AKA a phone call without a video component), and with few exceptions the patient will need to be in a designated underserved or rural area. An upcoming issue of APCPS will contain the temporary codes that CMS waived in for the PHE.
