Tip Sheet: Most recent medically unlikely edits for primary care procedures

For your reference, here are the medically unlikely edits (MUEs) for the 110 CPT codes primary care physicians bill most often, according to 2012 Medicare utilization data for physicians (the most recent data available). MUEs are frequency edits. They limit the number of units of service of a given code that a provider can bill on a single patient on one calendar day. A Medicare contractor, Correct Coding Solutions LLC, updates the MUEs quarterly.
