Industry Notes: FCC Puts $42.7 Million into its Telehealth Program Coffers
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved more providers and added funds to its COVID-19 Telehealth Program.
Background: In March 2020, the CARES Act funded the COVID-19 Telehealth Program with $200 million, but the FCC quickly went through that money and halted the program. Then in March 2021, the FCC relaunched Round 2 with an additional $250 million in funding from the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (see Medicare Compliance & Reimbursement, Vol. 47, No. 3).
